Hi, I'm 14 and I did this survey about a week ago so I'm just going to post what the children said. I go to a school where there are only boys and there are boys from 11-18 and I asked them about Britney.

I asked them if they liked Britney and they all said no.  :4music:

I asked them if they knew a song and they all could name at least one song but it was mostly Scream and Shout and some said BOMT, Toxic, Womaizer, Everytime, Oops....

I asked them what they thought about Britney and they all said she is a horrible singer.

I asked them how old did they think she was and most of them sad over 40. :awkwarddd:

I asked them about her meltdown and loads said that they knew she was a crazy druggie who shaved her head. :boring:

I also asked them if Britney was still popular and they all said yes.

I asked them who was more popular Britney or Gaga and most of them said Gaga :idc1:

If you want me to ask them more questions just reply below.

Next time go with an MP3 and make them listen to Blackout :queenflopga:

Most people are gonna say they don't like Britney just because they want to maintain their rep. I don't believe half of them. And I hate how liking Britney is seen as a bad thing. :idc1:

But good work! It's very interesting :)

Being a Britney fan makes me feel awesome  :smokeney:

especially in the metal world they ask what I like and it's like:

"Iron Maiden,Metallica,Pink Floyd,Rammstein ....... more creepy shit.......and BRITNEY SPEARS"

It's actually very bad ass  :gaspy:

If they can't take it then Get back

I'm actually a metal fan too (among many many other genres :giggle:) and people look at me like I'm crazy when I say I like Britney at well as, say, System of a Down. There's nothing wrong with pop music, especially when it comes to Britney.

Honestly, I don't see those results as surprising at all.  To most kids, Britney is some washed-up singer who was popular a hundred years ago, went crazy & shaved her head at some point, and is now performing in Vegas with the rest of the has-beens.  It's sad, but true.  Those kids didn't get to experience her peak, so they don't remember how awesome she was and how she ruled the world.  This reminds me of when Lorde, who's 17, said that she really only knew of Britney because of the breakdown "era" and not because of her music, performances, accomplishments, etc.

It's the same with me too! I listen to all sorts of music, including Metal and, especially, Pink Floyd (love them). But Britney just as much. I don't think musical taste has to align with a certain genre like some seem to think. I simply like good music, so that can be pretty much anything, be it Classic Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop, Pop, Alternative etc.

I think it becomes obvious in this survey that most of the people haven't actually listened to more than, at most, a couple of her songs, and only learned about her through the media. All they remember is some distorted image they got because of her breakdown and maybe the most recent songs by her. But considering they're only 14, it is not in the least bit surprising, since 2007 might even be the first time they ever heard about her. It's really sad though that the image they have of her might prevent them from listening to her amazing music, thinking it's somehow bad to like Britney.

You should seriously show them Blackout...   (And ITZ)

I know, people bully me at school for liking her, but who cares right. And thankyou too.

:crying1: I feel blessed to have grown up with Britney and see her through her ups and downs vs. being introduced to her when ppl were bashing on her most and not knowing all of her greatness before that time like some ppl

P.S. cute profile pic ;)

honestly tho most boys age 11-18 aren't going to know a lot about britney spears the icon, they're not really what i would consider the britney generation

if you asked a bunch of men age 21-28 i bet they would all say they liked britney

also this like just totally makes me sad about the younger generation because i was talking to my friends 9 year old daughter and i asked her if she and her friends knew who britney spears was and she said yes and i asked if they liked her she said no and i asked why and she said her friends think she's ugly
