I think she always looked a bit older though. BOMTney cold have said se was 18-19 and I would have trusted her, TZney could have had 23-24 and I'd have trusted her as well.

I have genuinely always considered this, because her face has always looked so mature. She could've been 21 for bomt and 25 for itz and no one would have thought she looked younger.

In the end though, oval faces are longer and narrower which makes her look mature naturally, and then the way she used to hold her face, pointed down so her eyes were straight at the camera with the sexy frown, aged her a little. Her team produced her to be a sex kitten which naturally makes you think of her as older (how many guys would want to really admit to getting off to a 16/17 year old?) and then dressed her to that extent.

Now she looks older than other celebs because she's smoked for so long and messed with her nose, but also doesn't spend her life running around like Kim K and Beyonce desperately trying to retain her youth. Instead she spends her time actually parenting instead of handing the kids off to a nanny, and not many almost-full time mothers to two young kids look as good as she does.
But I agree that back in the day she seemed about 5 years older than she was. But she needed to if she was 16 and singing a song implying she wanted sex. Larry was a pro back in the day.

Britney has been "famous" since she was 10 so no. And remember she was originally denied MMC at first only after they found out she was too young.

Maybe she got traumatized since that, and trained herself physically and mentally to look always older than what she was.

Hahaha, no, I think she has just always been so precocious and that's why she always looked older than her real age. And that's why she was so obsessed with getting married at such a young age, or becoming a mother, and I think it did good to her on the beginning of her career, but I always knew that someday she would be at this point where she is currently, where looking older than her real age is not an advantage anymore; well actually I think she doesn't give a damn about it, but it's us, her fans who "suffer" because of that, because now she feels like an old lady.
