Well that's a nice answer & I agree with it but I can really only think of a couple of pop star celebrities today who are "more famous" than Britney, especially of the ones who were around back then.

What a stupid question to ask a celebrity smh. Just goes to show how pressed people still are about Britney.

And Britney still HAS one of the biggest & best fan-bases ever.

That was such a heartfelt response.  Pretty much everyone that works with her has a similar answer.  Britney's fans know the real Britney which is why we continue to love her.

what she meant by "more famous" is more popular/trending today...it was an improvised answer

what did she say?

i can't watch the video!

can someone post a transcript at least for us international fans

I'm too lazy to actually transcribe it...but later If I have time

a caller asked Zoe if she went to Vegas to see POM and what she thought of the Alien no-autotune controversy

she basically said that was mean to ask that and for whoever started it, and that most singers wouldn't want something out there that wasn't meant for the public, esp since most singers use autotune

she defends Britney, and says she is the only huge star that she has met who is genuinely humble...and just went on about how sweet and rare of a person she is. She says that Britney never trashed other people, even when so many people trash her, and that she respects her attitude. She claims that so many people are attracted to Britney because of her positive energy. It was a genuine response.

Not even close. From what I've heard (I've only been active in the fan community since 2013) the fanbase has been shrinking more and more after the Circus era. And while the few of us that are left can still fend off the likes of Beliebers and Directioners, we sure as Hell aren't bigger than them.

And we're not the best. At all. The second a guy says he's straight in any gathering of Britney fans, he's immediately grilled about why he's in the closet. Then many times, those same straight fans who were bullied by the gay fans turn around and bully the gay fans. There's homophobia and heterophobia in this fanbase.

And then the over dramaticism. Everyone in the Army commented on how Britney was so awkward during XFactor. The second Adrienne Baillon (her coworker on that flop show) says it in an interview, the Army drags her. She can't say it, but we can?

Then Victoria posted pics of her with the boys (who btw, live with her and Kevin, too) and the Army dragged her for posting the pics. Um, hello... Victoria's been with Kevin since 2008. She's their stepmom. And IDK about y'all, but vilifying a stepparent for loving their stepchildren and wanting to post pics of them together is disgusting to me.

And did we all forget David's ex? She never bashed Britney, didn't even bash David. The girl started posting on Tumblr memories about her and David's relationship from over TEN YEARS AGO around the time his relationship with Britney became public and the poor girl got shit flung at her from this fanbase from all sides.

We can't even come together when it counts! We never decided which song we all wanted as a third single, we never requested any song on the radio, despite every song from BJ practically getting a radio release, we haven't had any "Get _____ Vevo Certified" campaigns in forever, and we couldn't even all agree on one single forum to migrate to when Exhale fell.

The one thing that can be said for this fanbase is that the majority of us are good looking and hyper sexual like Britney. But we suck. Utterly and completely suck.

dude her fanbase is not limited to internet forums

she was chosen for Vegas because she appeals to several generations

and if you've been a fan since 2013, during her most dull era, then it's actually incredible that she is pulling in new fans w the complete lack of promo, scandal, shying away from the public, focusing on family life, purposely dressing down and boring, etc

I was a fan since the beginning, and Britney mania was an international sensation...there is not a celebrity today, not even close that matches the fever pitch of her prime. She was literally everywhere and profoundly impacted the industry, culture, and music history

So little is going on in the world of Britney in comparison to her prime days, and there is like a couple dozen popstars competing for the spotlight, so it may appear her fanbase is declining...but her fans are deeply affected by her and intensely loyal. Many of them you will never find on forums (for example her first and biggest wave of fans are settling into careers, marriage, grad school, home ownership, etc...and they simply don't have time to stan for her on the daily, esp online...but they exist in the non-virtual world..)

I said I've been active in the community since 2013, as in that was when I first started interacting with other fans and following Britney news... I've been a fan since 2009. And who said anything about forums? I only mentioned that once near the end of my post. I've seen this behavior at concerts, fan club meetings and regular gatherings as well as all social media sites. It's not limited to the internet.

And secondly, don't wave away everything I wrote by saying "all her fans are having grown-up lives now" or "not everyone's on the Internet". The fanbase has deteriorated in size and moral standards. That simple.

:mhm: I've been a fan since the beginning and didn't find out about BreatheHeavy until last year. Some people don't realize that not everyone is glued to the internet, so it doesn't reflect Britney's popularity and impact as much as, say, her selling out shows in Vegas with little to no promo.

I also never cared to try out forums cuz I thought they were pointless, as I was raised before internet was popular

everyone I know, knows who Britney is and mostly people root for her

2009 is still later in her career, and still proves my point tbh that she still makes new fans

fans don't disappear...and if they did, you have no way of knowing or keeping tabs on them. Usually people just grow out of stanning on a daily basis, and since her first wave of fans are the oldest they are likely to grow out of it. And yes, the original first generation Britney fans are at the age where they have graduated college, some going back for grad school, having kids, getting married, settling down, forming a career, etc. This is simply fact for majority of that generation....which is huge.

She sells out Vegas, which has an older demographic in general, yet she brings a wide range of age groups to sell out essentially every show. She is the #1 searched for topic in Vegas, and when my parents went to Vegas last week they heard talk about her throughout the town...and her store dedicated to just her is open even when there is no shows any time soon.

Her level of trending and popularity might be down, but does that mean her fans disappeared. Elvis is dead and in no way the sensation that he was...but each year more Elvis albums get sold, and new fans are added.

Your opinion is based on your own experience, and while you can speak for yourself and how you see things...I see my entire generation and 3 others who care about Britney. I also love Nirvana, and it may seem like their fans have disappeared compared to their glory days, but their glory days were so glorious that they will always have a fanbase.

Many older fans have listened to the music forever and know everything there is, so they are dormant rather than active...but that doesn;t mean they are not fans just cuz you personally don't see the evidence you are looking for. I see the evidence and so do others...and as for the part of the fanbase you say is shit, you only can speak of those ridiculous ones...not all of us are insane zealots tbh
