Actually, the expression "Neyde" came after that picture was taken, the "ney" comes from "Britney" and then added the "de" and started to call her that as an insult, however, as time passed by it started to be used as a term of endearment to Brit.

both are true,Neyde comes both from "ney" form britney and because it was a popular name related to poor people. There was a show where the maid was called "neyde" and they related to this aswell.
