How Do * You * Define "legend"?

My definition of a legend is:

 

(n.) A person, especially a celebrity, who despite the many attempts at maintaining a low-profile celebrity status, still catches the attention of media and of the general public. i.e. Britney Spears tries so hard to evade the spotlight and the fame, yet people still cannot stop talking about her. Meanwhile, hasbeens are forgotten celebrities who due to their lack of impact, are not talked about by the media or the general public.

In Britney's case:

she is a legend because she preserved and evolved the pop genre in the 21st century and because of that, further important figures like lady gaga, rihanna, beyonce and katy perry have emerged in the spotlight.

Everytime the pop genre will start to fade away, Britney will comeback to maintain the balance...The pop genre is destined to die with her some day...
