Whenever I hear someone say "Britney Spears" opposed to just "Britney" I cringe ( a little in my head) I don't know why this has happened to me all of a sudden but to be fair, i've never liked saying a full name (first and last name) Britney Spears is famous so it makes sense that people call her "Britney Spears" but maybe im so used to just calling her "Britney" that it feels odd to hear "Britney Spears"

For example, I went to a restraunt a few weeks ago and my mom said that the waitress looked like "Britney" and my brother had to ask -who's Britney? We don't even know any Britneys. Anyway, my mom had to say "Britney Spears" and it set me off

So, what do you call Brit Brit when you talk about her? I call her Britney- people i talk to them about her usually know i love her so it's a common understanding. But i guess if it's someone who doesn't know about how much i love her, i'd have to say "Britney Spears"

I feel like when I say "Britney Spears" it makes me sound like i'm just a casual fan- if that even

Ya like we know her like a friend and you call friends by their first name not their full so I understand why you do that, I do too now that I think of it. :mhm:

Exactly!! Well put. You wouldn't call your best friend "Jim Applesauce" would you? You'd call him Jimmy or something

Britney has become a common name, unlike Miley, Beyonce and Rihanna

It would've been the same if she had said Katy.

Sure but it sounds weird to me. Imagine saying, "Britney Spears, can I have your autograph?" :gloria:

"Omg Britney Spears?! I'm a big fan of yours, can I have your autograph?"

I call her Britney, too. Or Brit, or Britney-Britney (because of that parody character on the Fairly Odd Parents show). :giggle: My brother knows that when I say Britney's name or sing one of her songs, it's time to shut the hell up and worship Godney. :Godney:

I have a cousin named Britney, and I avoid saying her name. There's only one Britney for me.

That's awesome. I never really thought about it. Maybe it's because we love her so much and grew up with her and witnessed so much of her life that calling her Britney seems natural. Come to think of it, I never like the name she used: Britney Jean. It doesn't sound like britney at all. When the album first came out.. it felt weird to say: Britney Jean.
