She Should Use This Time To Work On Her Voice

Postbreakdownney would've been easier to accept for most fans even if the dancing lessened if she sang live more and sounded good.

If she really wants to dance less now/do less choreo, id really like if she went back to improving her voice and singing live.

For example, Godcus Tour was a perfect tour and the lack of dancing didn't bother me. It was the lip syncing the entire show without dancing that really bothered me

Are you serious!? If Britney started to sing live now the whole world would talk about it. As long as she is not that good dancer as in 1998 - 2004 she could try to sing/prerecord vocals or something. Lucky performance looks cute and stuff, but when you are in Vegas (at the concert) it's a little bit boring when she is lip syncing it.

nobody expected britney to sing live because of her amazing performances...she doesn't give us that anymore, some are really good, but she never delivered like in the past, so i think it's expected that she sings live at least the ballads...even in her prime she sang everytime live, so why not sing at least the ballads live now?

 

and nobody is asking for perfect vocals, but she's a singer, at least she could sing live every now and then no? remember how everyone got excited for you oughta know? imagine now britney singing perfume live, it would be amazing...it just seems a bit dumb to lip sync to a ballad and walk around like you're slaying every vocal...even in her prime seemed dumb sometimes now it seems dumber (if that's a word)

I was at the May 9th POM show in the 1st Row and I thought it was amazing!! Her best show since Onyx. She had way more choreography than in the circus or FF tours and she looked amazing. I'd actually prefer she lipsynch and actually focus on dancing rather than try to re-invent the Britney wheel. It's not like she can sing live and dance like we are a custom to her doing, no one can. 

 

I really doubt it would generate that much attention if she started singing live more often. No one has ever expected it from her or from a Britney show. It's not why people Love Britney and it's not what people pay to see.

It's true. The non-choreo performances in Vegas are quite boring right now, but if she sang these parts of the show live it would be a perfect show: parts with choreo and lipsyncing, and parts without choreo and live singing

Please stop acting like you don't care. If she was singing live you would be the first to be happy about it, any REAL fan would be happy about the world praising her for singing live, for not being insulted about lip sync etc..

You might think people are haters, we are not, we are just annoyed to see her lip syncing everything, because im sorry it makes her looks untalented. Are you happy about people seeing her like that? I understand where you are coming from and i agree. Piece of me would be a lot better if she was actually singing during Lucky, Everytime and Perfume.

I always say that you don't go to a Britney concert for the singing but for the show but she should try to sing more. After all, that is what she is.

The fact that we havent seen a live performance in a couple of years only gives the haters more fuel about the fact that she can't sing (which we all know she can), about the whole aoutotune drama and about Myah singing for her.

I know that she is focussed on her family and i am very happy for her but i think she should focus on that part of her carrer. At least do a live performance on a award show or something, because it really bothers me and makes me sad how every time i am watching tv and someone makes a comment about lip sync they always make fun of Britney. 1. Don't doubt my Britney fanship. Check my meet & greet photo. I LOVE her! I've been to every single tour (except M&M) and have been a fan since the beginning. 

 

2. I think it would be GREAT if the general public were impressed by Britney singing live. I'm saying that I don't think that the general public would be impressed if she did sing live. The general public has never cared for her to sing live so why would they care now? TBH they would probably just use examples of her singing live to make fun of her voice like they have done countless times in the past when she has sung live! The only thing the general public cares about is her beauty, how hot her songs are and how she DANCES.

(also contrary to your assertion,  not caring what the general public or the haters think does not make me a bad Britney fan, it makes me a better one! I don't care what the haters think. There have been haters since day one. If Britney can make it through 2007 and comeback to massive success then the least I can do as a fan is ignore the haters and keep staning) 

 

3. I agree it would be nice if she sang the ballads and lip-synched to pre-recorded vocals instead of the album versions. That being said I honestly wouldn't be happy if she was singing live the whole time or even most of the time because it would be mean she wouldn't be slaying us with those dance moves. 

 

4. I hope you're paying attention: 

Her dancing is just getting better and better. She dances harder and way way more in the POM show than she did in the Circus or FF tours. Her dancing with time is improving but if you want her to be dancing like it's 2001 overnight then I'd suggest you re-set your expectations. She may not dance as hard as she used to but she still dances more and better than her peers (GaGa, Beyonce..etc) :pieceofme3:

 

5. I think you have a warped perception of what the general public thinks of the Queen. The world LOVES Britney and is not out to get her anymore than they are any other celeb. It's not 2007 anymore. Her POM show is a huge success. There are talks of extending it. She is loved and idolized enough to launch a lingerie line. She is an adored ICON!

I agree about the pre recorded back tracks but progress is progress! She may not dance as hard in POM as she did in Onyx but she does dance way way more and harder in POM than she did in Circus or FF tours and that shouldn't be ignored. She's getting better with time. POM is the most dancing she's done since Onyx and that excites me! Gives me hope that it will just keep getting better.  :bigsmile: 

 

(ps. They had us learn the slave choreo when I was in high school for a musical audition and it is NOT easy. I couldn't sing and do it correctly so I would not expect Britney to)

One of these days we will encourage Britney instead of make demands and perhaps she will be able to be more her self. She is always best when she can relax and be in the moment. 

 

Unless it's spot on (and it rarely is for anyone moving about) live Singing would not "improve the show" and 90% of the time makes it worse. It would make you all think Britney's there and present or something. Which comes down to what it is everybody really wants. It's not about the quality of the show. A Britney show has always been like getting to see live Videos. 

 

That said I of course would love some pre recorded vocals, especially on the early year tracks just because it does seem weird her sounding like she's 15-22 when she's 32 and has been a smoker for at least 11 years

 

And I love her voice so hearing her sing Alien to start the show is a dream. I think she should be able to do that before the hard dancing starts and having her mic loud enough for her live voice to blend through on the recordings here and there. That's how it used to be by the way. I don't need live singing form her. I will go see Carly Rose to hear beautiful live singing.

 

Imo the thing that is missing in Britney's show right now isn't the dancing. (She's doing some of the best live dancing since 2004. It was usual She really went hard on choruses and breakdowns). Nor is it this need for live singing (Work bitch sounds live and so does Perfume to a degree). It's her not relaxing into the moment and the sense that there isn't any spontaneity. Britney isn't 100% relaxed into her performance and the show is more a kin to a scripted Live filming than a concert. She has improved and will continue to improve if she feels comfortable and confident. The way people responded to the Circus promo and the Circus tour really did a lot of damage to her confidence imo. 

 

POM is still great and Britney is dancing hard with everything Choreographed more than it's ever been (which leaves less time for Spontaneity and gives Britney more to think about. The fans always demand more and more and they try and give it to you). Britney has a lot to remember and when she is trying to make sure Planet Hollywood gets the show they paid for, it's hard to relax and allow herself the freedom to change things up here and there.

Well, too bad we aren't in a unicorn and candy world where we can do what we want when we want, to make ourselves happy, but in the real world where we have obligations and have to work especially if we have a job , aka being a singer means you have to sing.

and then people are wondering why some of us are making a "big deal" with the lip syncing issue. It is NOT normal for a fan of a SINGER to compare videos trying to find some live vocals and then say things like "omg she's singing live at 1:16-1:19" . i seriously think we are the only fanbase who has to do this to hear some "live vocals". This is seriously despairing.

Yes, she has a family and she went through hard stuff. But that doesn't make it as an excuse for lip syncing. If you are a singer you need to sing.

She's on stage for 1 month and have a 2-3 months break, i don't think it would kill her to take at least 1 singing lesson per week during her break, and then at least try to sing just 1 song, or at least add some pre recorded vocals to the show.

And yes it makes me feel sad to see how people make fun of her because of this. We know she is talented but we absolutely have no arguments to defend her since it's been a long time we didn't hear her voice live, so it's even more frustrating. Makes me feel bad to see how she's wasting her talent, because she has a beautiful voice.

I would love to see her sing live, or at least pre-record vocals from the old songs All I really care about right now is seeing her! I have yet to accomplish that. (It would also be nice if she sang Alien without a track or vocals and have her sing it acapella or something so people that go to her show that don't really like her go: "she CAN sing!!!" But other than that I just want to see her. Once just once!
