tbh I like that fact that it's a nice small community here at universe

but as a whole are we small compared to the behive and little monsters?

A long time ago the B-Army was the Largest. Right now it doesn't matter. I think we love our Artist in no matter what. Even if Britney wants to Retire a lot of us are OK with that. We would hate it but as long as she is happy. I don't think any other Fan Base is like that out there.

No. The online presence of the fanbase is just smaller than most. Britney came out before the internet was significant in any way. Someone like Gaga came out when how many twitter followers one has began to matter, and most of her fans are young people who care about social media. Britney's fans are mostly in their twenties and up. They have jobs, families, no time for fanbase forums, etc. Hell, I had no idea about BH or Universe (or any fansites) before last year and I don't even have a twitter.

With Britney, what has always mattered is seeing shows and buying records (which us fans are very good at doing).

1. I can't say anything about the BArmy as a fan base because I'm a fan of hers since 2011 and I didn't feel the influence of Brit and her fans back then, neither do I nowadays, except the social media. Speaking of the real life, we're seperated and most of the fans are 20+ and have families as Lia said but when it comes to concerts and stuff like that we're always ready to support Britney. I can't really tell much about us because the only way I keep in touch with other fans is the Net and Universe, plus Brit isn't in her best years like she was 10 years ago, so I can't feel how big we are.  

 

2. Speaking of Katy, I also love her music videos and singles, from her last album the only song I liked was Legendary Lovers, it is SOOO good.

The Army was one of the biggest fanbases in the Circus to FF era. The fact HIAM and 3 shot straight to number 1 The debt ridden, STD invested Hive wishes.

Brit, however, lost a lot of stans in the FF era. Not really fans, but a lot stopped buying her music.

I think the true measure of a fan base are the tours. It's the GP that buys the music.

I'm sure concert fans do, but would you actually attend a Britney Spears concert if you didn't at least like her a bit (moreso, spend money on it)? On concerts, majority of the audience are probably fans. With music and charts, people can bandwagon, especially since a song is just worth a dolalr or something.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Before I graduated high school I had an account that had +300 followers. After I graduated I made another one because I had a crazy ex-boyfriend I wanted nothing to do with anymore and my account has 30 followers and I think I actually know maybe 10 of them  . I'm only 19 and even people my age are going to college/university, got full-time jobs, and some of them are even getting married and popping out children already and don't have the time or care to be on Twitter. Heck I think I log onto mine once every three months. I just made a new one to keep up-to-date on news, but Facebook has since gotten on that bandwagon and there's really not a need to use it for even that anymore. I think most other fanbases are mainly 14-16 year olds and have a lot of spare time to be spending on Twitter. Doing the whole social-media drama thing ect. You know your typical modern day high schooler. But if Britney came on tour anywhere close to where I live, I guarantee EVERYONE my age and older and younger would want to go and it would sell out in minutes (actually it did when she came 6 hours away for Circus tour. I couldn't even make it to the checkout page online and it was sold out   ). Katy Perry came only 2 hours away last year or maybe two years ago and I didn't even know one person that went.   

 

Also, there are A LOT of closet Britney stans/fans post-2007 which is a contributing factor.

Same here. I'm 19 and basically fit the forum stuff into classes, work, etc. And there are A LOT of Britney fans and supporters who happily go to her shows and buy her music. Some make it obvious, some keep it on the down low. :cutelaugh:
