The Vmas Tonight Were Supposed To Be Beyonce's Big Night But Britney Upstaged Her...

And she WASN'T EVEN THERE

All I hear about is everyone talking about Katy's homage to Britney's denim dress. Ain't hear nothing about no performance for a vanguard award.

This just goes to show how big of an impact on pop music and culture is. Her dress got more attention than someone winning an award with a 15 minute medley and tribute to themselves (which is tacky but we won't go there)

Finally the Beyhive can stfu about the 2011 VMAs now.

I regret of watching the whole show. It was sooo boring. The only part when I laughed, was when Ariana Grande received the award (I dislike her btw) and Iggy Azalea just stayed there, on her seat, looking so pissed hahahaha I didn't understan why she didn't went on stage with Ariana if she was featured on the song :thatsfunny:  I don't know, but the whole situation was so funny to me :lmaolol: But that Beyoncé medley was the most boring thing I've ever watched in my life. I thought she was going to sing like her "greatest hits" or something, not the worst songs from her latest album.

I'm still trying to find out what exactly has this message to do with feminism...

We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller,†“We say to girls, ‘You can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you will threaten the man.

Nothing. It has literally nothing at all to do with feminism. She's just throwing around words that are powerful in this day and age in order to get attention.

Honestly, Britney going up on stage, not giving a shit if she's half-naked up there and what anyone has to say about her sexual image, or singing songs about her sexuality in general and not being ashamed of it (e.g.Touch of my Hand is being open about a woman masturbating and being comfortable with it - something that is unheard of for some people and often times is viewed as a male-only thing) and open with it is more of a feminist image than everything Beyonce has claimed to be feminist. Teaching women that it's okay to wear what you want and be confident in your own skin, to release her unphotoshopped photos, Britney is in every way more of a feminist than Beyonce. But Britney doesn't go around flaunting it like she wants it to be a part of her image, it just naturally comes along with it and she doesn't need to throw it in everyone's face. It's just common sense.

Also, Beyonce calling her tour Mrs. Carter tour is totally opposite of feminism so... generally if you want to be called a feminist you shouldn't be naming your tour after a tradition that started to show a man's ownership of a woman.  :pieceofwhat: I really wish Beyonce would stop this shit tbh it's annoying.

I can't take Ariana Grande seriously at all. She looks like she's 14  :lmaolol: .

Also that's probably because Beyonce really only has four greatest hits tbh  :blackoutsmiley:

You summed up all of my thoughts PERFECTLY!!!

Flawless answer!!!

I wonder if there will be even one single person in the U.S.A. that will say, what they hell is she talking about? That's not a feminist, that's the exact opposite, she is just thowing it to your face in big glowing letters and you still can't see it...

There must be a single person with minimal mental abilities...

I guarantee every woman working at a women's center of some sort probably cringes when they hear Beyonce's name tbh. You know, women that are real feminists  :bomt: Every woman that fought for women's rights in the past probably rolled over in their grave as well.

Most definitely. Since the start of the new millennium, feminism has gone mainstream and become watered-down. Apparently nowadays, just because a woman chooses to do something (like name her tour Mrs. Carter or sing about giving a blowjob) that automatically makes the choice feminist. No, just no. She put an actual feminist's words in her song but never really has much to say on her own. It's all ploy to gain more popularity and brownie points. :displeased:

Britney got it 1st though so

And no1curr bout the bleach monsters obvious attempts to steal the show, can they decided what they doing please? One minute they're leaking stories that their marrage is pretty much over, now they're playing happy families. We've seen it all already, it's boring  and uniteresting, the most safe ways of being noticed and tbh no cares about that, who really gets remembers for being safe and perfect? Even Princess Diana while she publicly appeared white as snow, she still had the balls to be bold and say what was on her mind and be real and now she's more of a legend that most of the royal in history. Beyonce just did the same thing as usual but she's not Madonna or Britney so her songs just don't have that impact and her boring way of performing sure doesn't. She needs to learn, all the years she has spent paying the media to kiss her ass and she still hasn't had many iconic moments, it's what you do not telling everybody what you wanna be. I'd laugh if this Katy thing was Brit passive agressively getting her own back on VMA 11 and Britney was DMing Katy on twitter. :lmaolol:

Completely honest and without shade .... The hive was saying that Beyonce was going to make the most VMA epic performance but she only made the same like always, the same steps NOT danced I looked carefully her show the only ones who danced

were her back dancers on most occasions she walked on stage and as on two songs just made the same movements of the hips, the same faces,  even she not showed her Vocal ability where she is excellent as vocalist  I think only she did it when sang drunk in love ....her show was boring I expected more,  she had to do her greatest hits not all those songs that no one knows except for drunk in love, the performance of last year of JT was +1000000000000000000 better honesty in the end she just used the same of her 2011 performance her daughter the only endearing the all performance.

About the meaning of those words and the relation with feminism...They are indeed the exact opposite of feminism. She was supposed to send the message that society implants these thoughts to women and feminism contradicts that. However, she actually did an awful job sending this message because it was mostly confusing...

It was also hypocritical but that's a different conversation though...

I like Ariana as an actress, and shes very beautiful, but I CANNOT stand her singing. It sounds like shes running out of air every time she sings or something.
