Sure bomt is electro :zoomzoom:

gurl the entire world is electro rn :zoomzoom: i'm sorry but you have to face it and britney wont release a BOMT or oops again bc...ohh bc she's not 18/19 anymore :zoomzoom:

and the album gotta be fresh too.

I'm so here for a FF 2.0 :fyea: I just hope the songs are more related to britney like it's said here

Unlike singer-songwriters, contemporary pop stars rarely have their songs viewed through an autobiographical prism, yet it’s hard to miss the changes in Britney Spears’ core messaging over the past years. Early in her career, when she was a teenage star selling albums in the eight-digits, “Oops! … I Did It Again†seemed to sum up her effortless rise. Later, as she became an ever-reliable hitmaker and touring workhorse, “I’m a Slave 4 U†took on extra-textual meanings.

this is what the fanbase loves from britney! that her albums go along with her life so I hope we have a mature album but mixed with the "club" style of people that they want to attract to vegas

of course the retirement rumors were false

and i don't understand why anyone wouldn't be happy with her renewing her contract. "FANS" might not have liked the way the britney jean era turned out, but BRITNEY did. and at the end of the day her happiness is all that matters. obviously she felt like they did a good enough job to want to renew

I totally agree!!!

This doesn't mean no tours forever like I just thought she meant for now. I honestly think she'll get bored of Vegas within a year or two it might be nice now but I don't think she will want to do that forever.

I happy cause it mean new music.

But I'm extremely unhappy cause it mean that she will be unhappy too (maybe miracle and RCA will treat her right)

Love this interview! But I hope RCA takes some time for the next album. BJ was going to be an awesome album, but it just didn't go fast enough for RCA. That's why William Orbit was cut, the vocal productions sucks, Myah Marie was used, etc. Don't forget Blackout was also released under RCA  :frenchy:

What's wrong with Blackout?

Nothing. I used it as example that RCA is capable of taking time for a record to be made, because Blackout was very well produced and not rushed. :pieceofwhat:

Oh ok :giggle: I totally agree. Also, Circus and FF are miles ahead of BJ in terms of production and having an obvious direction for the songs, too. BJ could have been amazing.

This is a great article. It's great to have confirmation that she did renew her contract with RCA and is in fact working on new music. I'm sure we'll get the album sometime next year, hopefully around the summer time so we don't have to wait until October-December. As far as no tours are concerned, she should do whatever makes her happy. She does seem very content with the Vegas residence and that's great. I do hope she tours again in the future because I really have no idea when I'll ever make it to Vegas.

Some points I noticed:

“It’s important to learn to say no. With tours and all of that stuff, there are so many aspects that go into it, it’s easy to have so many people around you saying, ‘oh yes, yes, you can afford this, you can afford this,’ and then all of the sudden you’ve spent $20 million on your stage and you’re like, ‘where’s my money?’ You have to make sure that you’re on top of things and know where the money’s going.â€

This is something I've been thinking of for a while with regard to the costumes and lack of dancers in this show. They were cutting costs after they such a sizable amount on the stage.

“Honestly, trying to compare record sales in 2014 to anything anyone had in the past is an impossible task, because it is such a broken business,†says Light. “The actual sales are never going to be the same, but if the social media numbers stay high, and her audience stays incredibly active, we’re feeling great.â€

They're going to focus less on marketing her albums the next few years. :zoomzoom: I don't mind her promoting it less, but if they want to maintain fans, they're going to need the maintain the quality of music. Stop making excuses for BJ though, I've never gone through a Britney album that left so many fans unsatisfied.

Tom Corson, president of RCA Records, concurs. “Britney is still near the top of the bell curve,†he says. “If you have an album that’s somewhat less successful than prior albums, it can be a reflection of a lot of things. But what you know is that the artist is still selling tickets, the artist is still viable in the marketplace, the artist brand still has resonance.â€

I completely agree. An artist selling stadiums speaks more starpower than an artist selling albums. I notice the social media part so I see there's no coincidence Britney has been more active on her social media accounts recently. I do think if they're this reliant on fans, they should give us more! :zoomzoom:

If Britney hates performing on TV, prerecord a performance and post it straight to YouTube, for example! Her nerves obviously get in the way live so put her in a place more conducive to her slaying it. Make more music videos! Or pull something similar to Beyonce.

“We got as much out of it as Pepsi did,†he says. “Britney’s brand became so elevated as a result of Pepsi’s commitment to her. I think they bought $17 million worth of media at the Super Bowl just to play Britney commercials. You can’t beat that in terms of general brand extension.

Where are her bigtime endorsements now, though? :zoomzoom: I agree it's weird Britney didn't launch as much products in her peak.

This all said, just a big yay that Britney's career seems to be far from over. ;) She isn't retiring anytime soon!

Well, if "Generic" means "As successful as Femme Fatale" then FUCK YEAH! I want another "generic" album. :bomt:

THIS!!!!

YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! THANK YOU!!  :kisskiss:

People need to stop over-reacting and be happy she re-newed and that new music is coming.  :orlynow:

Thanks :D

Honestly, I agree that Britney doesn't have to promote like crazy. She already has a huge fanbase, it's just she and her team kinda disappoints them at times. If her fans hear she has new GOOD performances, they'll rush to YouTube themselves. They won't care if it's prerecorded or on TV or in front of a live audience or whatever.

Ive got mixed feelings with this... I want her to be happy but I want tours

:crying1:  :crying1:  :crying1:  :crying1:  :crying1:

She never said she would retire anyway, those rumors are bullshit.

And i'm also not happy about this. New generic shit music on its way, yeaaah so excited  :4music:

If only. With RCA Records around that won't happen any time soon.

My reaction when I saw this:

Eurj9.gif

I happy cause it mean new music.

But I'm extremely unhappy cause it mean that she will be unhappy too (maybe miracle and RCA will treat her right)

Over reactions much!???!!!!

Calm down people. There was NOTHING negative about the article.

1. Britney never said she wasn't going to tour again, she just said that she really likes the set up she has now. Which is something that she has to say or else her marketing team will be upset. Think about it.. if she's promoting Vegas and getting butts in seats then of course her team would want it to seem like she's not going to tour again for a while. It's just like the fake "retirement" rumor that happened when months ago at the beginning of the residency. They want ppl to buy tickets and create a demand. Obviously Britney will tour again just like every other recording artist does.  :orlynow:

2. It is COMMON for record labels to put less effort and promotion into the final album on an artists contract (Britney Jean) so that they can use the poor performance for leverage when negotiating the renewal contract! DUH!  :nowaygif:  RCA is also responsible for Black Out so calm down. They wouldn't re-new an artist of her huge celebrity if they didn't intend to make money and promote the music and make amazing albums because Britney obviously is an expensive contract to re-new.

3. We also have no reason to think that Britney is unhappy with RCA or at all for that matter. This isn't 2007 ppl... I mean she just went through a break up and is posting adorable videos. She seems way more comfortable in interviews now and over all really happy.

4. New Britney music people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Freak out and be happy!!!!!!!!!!  :Godney:  :xf2:  :excited:  :yayy:

I really think people need to put things in the right perspective. Britney does not want to conquer the world anymore. She does not want to have #1's, she does not want to promote, tour etc. Is that a shame? Well, yes, because we know that if she would really go for it she could be twice as big as Gaga and Beyoncé. But that's not her priority. I accepted that years ago.

Yes, I know, she still has to deliver quality, that's true. And maybe Britney Jean wasn't good enough. But hey, that's the way it is. Next album is a new chance. We'll see what happens.

But this also confirms that Britney is always working and visiting the studio frequently. If shows what I knew a long time ago and that is that she's not retiring anytime soon. Britney just isn't the person to sit at home. I guess she's also way more involved in her career than people think.

And maybe, when her kids get older she will find a new motivation, and may tour again.
