I feel like people can't grasp the fact that we didn't hear 3 years of Britney (between Circus and In The Zone), at least, as an artist. And she had already changed in the In The Zone era!

 

So when Circus interviews rolled around, they must've been like "Huh? This isn't how I remember Britney when I last saw her" (ignoring the fact that that was 3-4 years ago)...

It's like they think she changed overnight, she didn't.

I dont agree. Actually, i dont know. Just because Britney is reserved, it doesn't mean she's changed. You have to remember that the reason britney changed is because she was PUT in the cship by her dad. Before that, it was all activeney. Maybe in Ff she changed briefly. But after that, she became more like her old Self ... Her instagram video is very itzney. This whole private/shy thing? Not very believable. Britney always knew how to play the media and always knew how to make people talk about her. Even when she says that she's a mom, Britney knows what kinda reaction she'll generate.(Her video, tours, and lingerie line say otherwise.)

Maybe britney has changed.. But i dont think she changed so drastically as people believe.. Maybe she acts that way to show people that she's independent and can take care of herself and hopefully this will lead to her release from the c ship and gain full custody of her kids. That's what I think. If this thread was made pre-instagram video, my answer would have probably been different.

well i personally have an extreme anxiety just like britney thats why i can tell u it is definitely NOT an act. sometimes she comes out of that shell, like during itz and femme fatale, she was soooo reserved but nowadays, she's starting to finally feel better (i think flopdan's shit site closing up also set her free in a way cuz with that place, people were soooo mean to her there).

i actually think she acts CONFIDENT nowadays but for real, she's really freaking out inside and being very shy many times like especially in interviews and stuff. because of her head shaving thing, i think she cant really live that down cuz ever since that, she got SOOO many bad reactions from the public and been labeled crazy that she really regrets it.

EDIT: Actually, I don't like the word "changed." I feel like she grew up. She's not the same naive, 23 year old girl she was during the In The Zone era. She's experienced hell during her career, and it's made her more weary of the media and what she talks about to them. In a way I'm glad she's more reserved. There's really no other way to explain it tho. People are always like "Oh, she's so lazy." or they're like "Why doesn't she promote her material." It's simply because her priorities have changed. She has two kids, they're the center of her world now. Not her career.

 i don't think she has changed her personality she just has become more mature. i think she was always shy like she is now the only difference is at the beginning she had to push herself out of her shyness in order to be successful.it must have been hard for her in the beginning being a shy person and having to do endless interviews. the fact that she was doing loads of interviews when she first started i say made her more confident  through immersion therapy. but in recent years she has not had many interviews so due to that fact she is more shy.

I'm sorry that you have extreme anxiety, it's understandable. I think secretly, we all have anxiety but in varying degrees.

As for Britney, you know.. I always got the feeling she sorta.. umm.. fluctuates? when it comes to confidence, it's like she goes through phases. Even in the past, I remember in ITZ and out all night.. she felt very confident when performing in gay clubs.. but when she went to the regular club, after she finished her performance.. she stood there and it looked like she was a bit a shy maybe. Also in chaotic, her confidence sometimes seemed to just.. go away.  It's just small observations about britney. I know it's not an act but I'm just saying, her confidence comes and goes a lot and her personality changes with it. I feel like deep down, britney is still that wild chaotic girl but maybe she's toning it down so she doesn't attract media attention and because she wants to gain custody of her kids. I really think that britney developed anxiety because she's in the cship.

she has changed... I love her facial expressions and her shy personality and her new music (Femme Fatale album, Hold It Against Me, Scream & Shout, Work Bitch and especially Perfume) so much!!! Though I sometimes do miss the old Britney (before the breakdown) who really cared about her singles and music videos. Imagine Perfume's and Work Bitch's success if she really wanted it to be successful. But she's a mom now and I'm glad she cares more about her children than about her career.

She def changed....when you go thru things no matter how HUGE or minuscule they are, you willlll change. it may be more subtle or more present based on the circumstances but it'll be there. Britney's phase was a pretty big and bad one so her change had to match that so she can overcome it. She def changed big time but not in the sense that she's not her anymore...Im sure she's still her maybe a bit more conscious & mature, but because she guards herself & ppl OVERLY guard her we wouldn't really know from the outside
