As a straight bro, I've received nothing but friendship and a good sense of community. Even when I have seen some more heterophobic (and even then, I'm using that pretty lightly) posts, I don't really have an urge to prove that I think pussy's amazing.

Music's music :qtb:

and tbh, I don't know why she doesn't have more straight fans. She's one of the defining sex symbols of my generation :aintevenmad:

#straightbritneystanproblems.

No, but seriously. It does get annoying as a straight guy when people are like "There's NO WAY you can like Britney Spears and be straight"....
I can't like Britney as a straight guy just because she has a predominantly gay fan-base? Psh
Bottom line, nobody's gonna tell me what my sexuality is based on who I listen to. It's ignorant of anyone to do so.

yeah I agree... to be really honest for me it does feel gay to be her fan :crying1: my favourite singers are gay icons... it feels embarrassing even though there is no connection between music taste and sexuality :crying2: I wish everyone could be more openhearted and express a different taste!

Don't be embarrassed. Own that shit! It ain't their place to tell you what you can listen to.  I like Britney, but I also like some Metal, lots of Indie, Country and loads of other shit. Sometimes it does feel "gay", yeah, but fuck it. I like Britney and that's that. People can suck a dick and get over it.

This tbh I hang around shitty hipsters all the time and they've all come to accept that Britney is top tier pop that's well produced and generationally defining. I love sneaking in Mannequin Freakshow or Inside Out to our playlists sometimes and seeing their reactions to how it seamlessly goes with most of our indietronic tastes

I don't know where it really it all comes from. Being straight I can only guess. Britney has been identified with Breathe Heavy/ Exhale for years and it is mostly known as a Site with a lot of gay members that are Britney Fans. So people then presume if you are a Britney Fan you must be Gay. This is just a theory.

First of all "911" is flawless.

But I think straight fans aren't accepted mostly because Britney's a pop music singer. Unfortunately it's a huge stereotype that if you're a guy and you like Britney, or almost any female pop singer for that matter, you're gay. Of course there are exceptions like Rihanna and Katy Perry, but mostly because they're popular and it's considered "cool" to like them. Rihanna especially since her music leans more towards a hip-hop/urban sound. I'd say about 80 percent of Britney's discography is straight up pop music. Of course not just straight up pop, her music will always have flares of different genres like EDM, urban, ballads, etc. But her music does appeal more to gay men and women. I mean, lbr, could you see a straight guy bopping to songs like "Gimme More" or "Work Bitch" :drown:

Well the hay fan base is quite new. Many men like Britney. She was a teenager icon as a model for girls and as a hot girl for boys. Her music wasn't for girls or gays. At some point she became kind of a guy icon but I don't think music has a sexuality.

You make an excellent point. Never looked at it that way.

I get it all the time. I love r&b music and that's alright. But as soon as I'm a fan of Britney, I have to be gay.

I've had it a lot but I just let it go over my head now. I've also had it on here where I've then had "who are you trying to fool with your picture"

Not nice really

Really? Why if gays are socially accepted ppl still call me "", "cunt" and stuff?  :zoomzoom: I think it's the other way around, sweetie. I don't judge on straight fans, i think ppl who do and ppl who also judge us gays are ignorant idiots  :pieceofwhat:

I get that a lot.

A gay from my class came to me and said:

"I don't think it's possible for a straight guy to like Britney Spears"

:xf11:

and there are also people who say that I'm gay for liking her(as if it was a bad thing) :umomg:

I'm a straight dude who likes Britney and I'm proud to say I'm not ashamed.

Music Taste does not define your sexuality.

I love Britney,I have her whole discography right beside my iron maiden discography and anyone who thinks this is unnaceptable can go seek amy themselves,if you know what I mean!

I have no patience :queenflopga:

I also love the fact that Britney never used her majority of gays and girl fans to mark territory. She just adress us as "fans",and it's amazing not to be left out

I also think is very cool that I'm accepted here on Universe, and even made new friends :bomt:

This...
