Nostalgia Posted September 8, 2014 #26 Report Posted September 8, 2014 My friend met Britney on Saturday and this is what she told me: "As you already know, I'm a diehard Britney fan. I've been that way since I was 14 years old. That being said, it would have taken quite a bit to ruin this experience for me. And, sadly, her security team almost managed to do just that. If I'm being honest, I'm incredibly disappointed. I really enjoyed the backstage tour. I did it for Femme Fatale and loved it then, too. But, unfortunately, there was an incident the night before (a fan tried to hand Britney a letter during her M&G), so Britney's team was on "high alert" and Britney was even more nervous than usual. And, due to that, we were told that we weren't allowed to give Britney a hug, that we weren't allowed to ask her if we could give her a hug, that we were not allowed to get too close to her and that we weren't allowed to ask her to pose with us. All I wanted was to give her a hug, so I almost cried. No joke. And, I had a few different poses in mind that I didn't get to do, which was a bit frustrating. On top of that, we had to stand outside, in the heat, for over 20 minutes, because a group of guys tried to sneak in and they had to get all of that sorted out. During that time, we weren't allowed to take any pictures; including with Fe (like everyone else has been able to). Again, because of the incident from the night before. Instead, the security spent the entire time making us feel stupid for being there. He kept repeating that Britney doesn't know us, that her team doesn't know us, that we need to respect her personal space, etc. It was the same speech that I'm sure everyone has received; however, it was the way it was delivered to us. Fe felt so bad that she eventually stepped back in to the conversation to tell us that he was doing it, because everyone felt so disrespected by the fan from the night before. And, while I understood that, I didn't appreciate that we were being punished because of it. When I finally met Britney, I was even more nervous, because of everything her security guard had said to us. Plus, I had no game plan, since I was told I couldn't do anything I'd planned to do. So, I just walked up to her, shook her hand and said "Hi Britney! My name is Nicole." She just smiled at me and didn't say anything. Then we took a picture. It happened so fast that I didn't get to fix my hair or my shirt and I didn't even know if I'd looked at the camera. She didn't say anything to my friend Lindsey, at all, so she was really disappointed. I told her it was because she didn't say anything to her. But, it does suck that she didn't say anything either. The show was AMAZING and I loved our seats. But, after the show, we went to pick up our "goody bags," and discovered that they are no longer giving out the free tee shirts. So, all we got was a VIP badge and a poster. And, the cards we got with our photos didn't work. So, I'm currently working with the Kodak group to get that fixed before our flight takes off today. Oh, and did I mention that the "Pre-Party Access" has been cancelled? So, I didn't get to experience that either. I'm glad I did it, because I've always wanted to meet her, but I wouldn't do it again. And, if someone asked me if it was worth it, I would have to tell them no; which makes me incredibly sad." 1
