that interview was disgusting and it was bullshit. Diane Sawyer should have never asked her that and everyone tore Britney down so much for her voice and it's only because she couldn't sing like Christina. They don't ask Katy Perry or Selena Gomez those ridiculous questions and both of them are shit compared to Britney (and I like Selena) as musical artists (among others but I'm not trying to go into detail). I feel that is part of the reason Britney doubts herself so much. I've never seen someone get as much unnecessary hate as Britney Spears, and it saddens me because she doesn't deserve ANY of it.

They don't expect them to be anything but basic b/c all new artist are basic...when Britney was young she competed against Christina, Jessica, Mandy, brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, jlo, etc...all of which are immensely talented and respected and of the teens Britney lipped more than all of them which led many to believe she couldn't sing...hence those questions but that was Britney's fault b/c instead of trying harder to sing she chose to smoke and mess up the voice she did have so no sympathy for her

Sadly, she could've worked harder to improve her voice and sing live to shut the haters up. I honestly think the earlier signs of lazyney was not working on her singing, which is a shame because I loved her voice.

The lippin is why ppl considered her a gimic...Janet mj and even jlo get respect as legitimate artist b/c they actually sing of course they have lipped too but surely not as much as Britney

Janet rarely ever sings live. It's probably harder to find legit live performances from Janet than it is Britney. MJ also lipped for at least 80% of his career. I don't know about J Lo because she is a basic bitch and I haven't watched much from her but everything I have seen was pre-recorded and tbh I don't see her getting that much respect.

 

The only thing that sets Britney apart is that she makes it much more blatant than everyone else (well except for MJ who performed with a mic countless times but people don't care simply because he's MJ).

It bothers me when people think "good" voice = talent. I happen to prefer Britney's voice to xtina, beyonce, etc. but Zoe is right. Britney had and still has a pure heart of gold

 

I agree! Sure an amazing voice is great but I'd still watch a Britney performance over an Adele, Ariana ..etc anyday because she is an exciting performer and entertainer! The Whole package!!

She actually sung live more in the ITZ era than she did in the Britney era, she did put in effort but she ALSO still danced heavily, what do you expect? I don't have much sympathy for her regarding that area NOW, but then? Hell yea

She did not sing live more during itz...itz is when she really began lippin the entire show more regularly...dwadney did it too but itzney did it more and honestly no b/c she could have sang and danced if she wanted too there are performances of matm and slave that are live and she dances great...I think she was just lazy and didn't want to sing and dance
