Actually I like it. It's not her best, it's not outstanding, but it's great. So much better than Blackout :xf1:

It is weak in production, but it has so many different styles, they could have released so many singles directed to different audiences, the euro-dance tracks like Til It's Gone or It Should Be Easy, slow ballads like Don't Cry or Hold on Tight, something more fresh and Britney-ish like Alien, something more urban like Tik Tik Boom, or something more mystical like Passenger or Now That I Found You.

It's not that bad, as everybody made it look, just because it wasn't Blackout 2.0, and most importantly because it flopped on the charts, because of the lack of promo. I think its most important attribute is its variety :yaknow: which is something that always characterized her albums. You listen to Prism or that Beyoncé's album and it's just the same song over and over.

It wasn't what Britney wanted? Most likely. We'll never know what kind of tracks were scrapped from the album, maybe she just didn't want to release it, and just went with the flow of what will.i.am offered to her. Maybe this time around it wasn't that they forced her to follow that direction, but it was her fault for not saying no in time, and she ended up where will.i.am wanted to.

I just hope for the next album she really gets excited about it, I hope she gets to feel really proud of it and that makes her want to perform on every TV show, and release 10 videoclips, and perform every single song from it to show us how happy she really is with it. :crying5:  But I still listen to Britney Jean, and I think I'll keep doing so in a long time, contrary to Femme Fatale for example, which I really loved back in 2011, but by 2012 I barely listened to it.

PREACH IT BABY! THIS!  :yesplz:

Do you think Britney Jean wasn't what she wanted by any means? Maybe some songs but that's it. I mean she barely promoted it and if she loved the album and it was close to her she would of promoted it. And at first I loved the album and now with a few weeks not listening to it and going back now I can't stand the album. Definitely is one of her worst albums

I think the first 7 songs of BJ are really good to amazing but the rest are awful. :crying1:  It's the most unbalanced Britney album. Knowing that she exec produced BO, I find it hard to believe that BJ is the sound she wanted. I think they tried to force a personal angle that was stupid because instead of amazing personal songs like "POM" we got boring ones like "Brightest Morning Star"  :4music:

I think it's a good record, but overall it's pretty weak in terms or production. I feel like it was rushed towards the end, I have hopes with this new album. Even though id love everything now, I want her to take her time and create a very magical and creative album. I don't think Britney jean was completely what she wanted, some songs yes, but most no.

I agree with this! Some Yes and some no! Where as her past albums have been so good they've almost all been YES songs!

I can't at bj is better than b/o...can you IMAGINE the slayage b/o would have if she had a good image in the gp...it's still successful and a classic despite everything that hindered it...bj had a flawfree Britney with basic ass songs...if the Britney that slayed in work bitch made a video for gm, bti, or Pom the universe would have been slayed

THIS!!

And then this again!  :dealwitit: This post is TRUE TEA, EVERYTHING!  :walkaway:  :kisskiss:

Sometimes I fantasize that she will shoot videos for BO songs now and re-release a rarities, or should have been singles album or something like that!  :crying1:

Britney Jean wasn't what anyone wanted. :frenchy:

When she first listened to it on her computer, she was probably like :surpriseney: And she was like get it away from me asap omg  :ahhhhhh:

And pressed "send to larry" as Halloween joke but Larry doesn't get jokes cause he's old so he just released it :yaknow:

And then praised will.i.am for job well done on Body Ache vocals :bffs:

And she was like bitch wat u do  :oopsie: But he gave her nice scooter so she didn't give 2 shits bout the album and rode happily :Scooterney: The End! :bffs:

In Britney's GMA interview she said we are going to take our time on this Album. I think Britney knew she rushed the "BJ" Album which made it weak. She has never rushed an Album before and she never will again.

It has nothing to do with this, her first albums were released in a few months, and we still had good albums. You can make a good album even in a short time. You just have to know where you're going.

You can take 3 years on an album, if you don't know what you want, you're not invested, nothing, it will still sound bad.

I liked Britney Jean at the beginning, because I was hyped for new Britney music, but after a month I got bored of it. That never happened with any Britney album for me.The only songs I'm still listening are Alien, Work Bitch, Tik Tik Boom, It Should Be Easy and Now That I Found You.

I don't know if she likes the album, but Perfume and probably Alien do mean a lot to her. She's said a lot of times that those songs are really personal. I'm not sure if she likes Work Bitch, but she really felt that music video! And I'm sure she had a lot of fun recording Chillin With You with her sister and it's such a great song!

No just the way Britney said it. Like she felt rushed on getting "BJ" out and she is going to take her time on this one. She wants to get her Album done right this time even if it takes a couple of years. That is the impression I got from the interview.

I personally love Britney Jean , and I believe she kept it a low key record because it was personal to her compared to previous work. And I can see how listening to a lot of it's lyrics.

Also another thing I love about Britney Jean.....Return of the Ballads!  And I actually rlly love her vocals in a lot of the tracks.

But I must say, I bought a copy of Britney Jean, and I like it  :)  , I know it's not the best Britney's album, but, it's not a bad album,  I like a lot of songs from it (Alien, WB, Perfume, Don't cry, Tik tik boom, passenger, brightest morning star... I even like it should be easy :orangu: ) it would be a better album with another kind of production  :bomt:

I really think some fans just don't like Blackout because they don't like urban music and r&b to begin with (even though the album is still very pop). Some think Blackout is loved because of the hype surrounding it. But no, the music and production was truly without flaw.

Britney Jean was just.....

Also, I think most fans who love BJ weren't stans from the beginning. They started liking Brit sometime after 2008 and are taking whatever they can get and then raising on a pedestal just because it's new material and they are excited to get music from their relatively new fave.

I have seen Britney at her best (even after a public breakup with ITZ), at her worst (when she STILL put out a masterpiece with B/O) and then have a pretty great comeback even when maybe she wasn't ready (Circus). So I know Britney is so much more than what Britney Jean has to offer. There are no excuses as to why a pop legend's eighth (not 1st, 2nd, or 3rd) studio album was released in the state it was. She wasn't even going through any struggles during 2013 (like in 2006 and 2007). There was enough time to make it amazing. Of course, Will.i.Am happened, so....

/rant

:tea: they prob would have never became fans if she was able to stay in control...I think her and danja would have been like Tim and justin.

I actually don't have any problems with EDM, as long as it is good EDM.

Eh I didn't either when she first started doing it but everyone has did it and I hope it goes away for many years...it's time for real music to return like in the 90s I'm glad urban is hot now hopefully more music takes a mature turn

:loldisidiot:  :loldisidiot:  :loldisidiot:  :loldisidiot:  OMG this response is perfection!!! It's like at least in the perfume adds her script sounds like something she might say not a nonsensical poem about bras! LOL.. But the video is perfect TBH. She looks stunning!

I don't know if it's what she wanted or not. I do know that it was rushed because it had to be released in time for the Vegas residency. Big mistake of course. That's why it's good she's taking things slowly now.

I do like BJ. Is it amazing? Definitely not. It could be way better. But I was longing for an album with songs like Hold On Tight and Don't Cry so I'm really happy with that. And maybe Britney wanted more songs like that on the album, who knows. But I do know that I also like songs like WB, Body Ache and Till it's Gone. So maybe Britney wanted that style on the album too. You know, a combination of ballads and up-tempo songs, her first albums had that too right?

I'm not sure, not what Britney wanted, is correct. It just turned out messy. BJ is just a bunch of ideas and beginning of great songs that wasn't ready for release. I love a lot of BJ but even I know that it should have been delayed. I 100% believe that "Body ache" should never have been added. The song isn't even close to being done even with the added second verse. And "Chillin with You" have these laid back chill verses and then a harder rappy chorus. It takes you out of the mood of the song. "it should be easy" with a little less autotune and Britney on the Background of the chorus (Like she is in Scream and Shout) and this song is a masterpiece imo. But they failed it). "Now that I found" you sounds to me like it's 3 songs on one though 3 good ones imo. "Work Bitch" is perfect but it really doesn't sound like it belongs on BJ even with the other EDM stuff.

Worry& love loss

Perfume

It should be Easy

Don't Cry

Hold on tight

Til it's gone

Finding support and how to relax

Alien

Passenger

Chillin with you (imagine a trippy chorus to go with those verses)

Brightest Morning star

Now that I found you

Sex&foreplay (though Sex is Comfort as well)

Body ache (imagine this gone)

Tik Tik Boom

Imagine  2 or 3 sensual songs here (Breathe on me and touch of my hand esque)

Motivation

Work Bitch

It's like they were on the verge of finding a great record and ran out of time and had to deliver whatever they had. Though part of that is that songs were pulled by or released back to the producers. Though those songs too could have only been half done.

Imo the Vibe of some of BJ, the vibe of the poem in the BJ booklet and the poems in the Intimate Britney Spears all have a similar flow and I can see that Britney was working on all this at the same time. She just had too much going on to have it done in December. If they would pushed the album back a year, just imagine the potential of this album.

I think we can see the Vibe Britney was going for but the people she Hired got couldn't get it done with Britney having a lot of her plate.

I can even imagine that Originally The Intimate Britney Jean was going to be the theme for the era. What I'm not sure is why they felt they had to rush release. Maybe because contractually RCA gets a cut of her Concerts that are connected to the era and RCA wanted a piece of Vegas?

This is just a question out of curiosity I'm about to ask: Do you not prefer music that has elements of the urban/r&b style?

I know that for me, songs in genres I don't like (country, which is the main one) all tend to sound the same to me.

Not a fan of Beyonce and her attention-seeking ways, but her latest album was very diverse in terms of an r&b album. And I do like it.

Blackout was not as big of a success as her first four albums in terms of sales and the like. However, it is in the Hall of Fame for a reason (and that's not the only reason I like as I have loved it since that day I bought it). Again I ask if you just don't like urban music at all because I can so very clearly hear the differences between each track. Ooh Ooh Baby and Heaven on Earth sound nothing like each other or any other track. Gimme More is a standout club banger, and the rest are similar in their urban nature but still different. Piece of Me and Freakshow are in their own lanes as well.

And Britney had quite of bit of say in ITZ and B/O, so that was in fact how she wanted to those albums to sound. Even the Britney album had pop-urban influences in quite a few of its songs (Anticipating has that upbeat pop/r&b style, for example. Even though it doesn't sound like much else on the album).

Of course, if you like Britney Jean then that's your opinion and that's great. I like urban, edm, pop, and rock and listen to all of those genres a whole lot (and not just with Britney), so for me to say I don't like BJ, goes far beyond the style of music and how many copies it did or did not sell.

:blackoutsmiley: (Just comparing our opinions)

I do like urban kind of sounds, but when they still have the pop vibe, like ITZ or some songs from Britney. I like Blackout, just because it's Britney, and I really love Break the Ice, Hot as Ice and Ooh Ooh Baby. I think the main reason why it's not my favorite, is because of the time when it was released. I think Britney shouldn't have released anything until she was in a better place, and I think all that made me dislike it since the beginning. Well, not dislike it but just, don't love it. Probably it really was what she wanted to give us at the time, but ironically for me it's the least Britney-ish. Again, it might reflect what Britney, the human, the woman was going through, but it stays so far away from the Britney Spears, the artist, I fell in love with in her early years. And at the end, maybe just POM or Why Should I Be Sad are the only songs that actually reflected what she was going through, and the rest of the songs are just like, too forced, like she was trying too hard to change her image, and she did it, but for me it was just like an act of rebellion, which is fine, because I like to have different facets of Britney.

For me Blackout it's just good, but it's a kind of sound that I wouldn't like to hear in another record. I think many of the unreleased songs were better than the final tracklist. If I have to describe the albums with adjectives, I think ITZ was a sexy album, but Blackout was just raunchy, except for some songs. I'm not a lover of EDM music either, and I want Britney to stop doing so, and the rest of the pop acts as well. I hate the fact that EDM has became the new pop :ewomg: But at least Britney Jean was more pop, more Britney. Not the personal kind, but, britney-ish in terms of the artist.

I think we should stop asking for "personal records" because, she's in a very good place right now, and the personal songs for her right now, are My Baby or Chillin' With You kind of songs. Breakup songs would be interesting, but that would be like giving so much importance to David Lucado, in this case. So I just want her to portray a character, and sing pop songs, that don't necessarily reflect her personal life, but her style and what she wants. If they include a couple of urban songs, it's great, but again, I love variety, and that's what makes her albums interesting I think, to have up-tempos, ballads, urban tracks, EDM if she wants :zoomzoom: but that the recrod has diversity.

Well imo Backout isn't really Urban per say. Though of course there are roots. To me it's closer to house than traditional Urban.  ITZ and parts of Britney are more that kind of Urban. Blackout is Electric dance music but there is a dark ravey feel. To me it's just different than anything though still similar at the same time. It's a well made mesh of styles. Even the pop has a dark mood. To me Blackout and Femme Fatale are sister albums though the first describes her life in the mood so is dark and the other is her trying to feel good by not focusing on her life. I love both to pieces <3 <3 <3 <3
