If Original Doll Was Released What Would Happen To Britney's Discography

I don't think it would have been that successful, specially if she was staying away from pop with each album. Actually, if she released it and went on tour and stuff, I think there wouldn't have been any breakdown, she wouldn't became mom in the first place, and probably she would have went through a long pause after that album.

I think Blackout is far from saving her life, but at least made her stay relevant in music.

Which is even sadder, is that I think it was actually her personal breakdown what saved her career, and made everyone  wait for her comeback, which wouldn't have happened if she released an album like Original Doll and flopped.

orignal doll was far from flopping dear..  :smokeney:  if she didnt go through a breakdown like you said beyonce wouldnt exist  ;) no way she would flop imo... Britney would be slaying like Madonna  :bomt:

Well, judging by songs like Dramatic or Money, Love and Happiness, I think it wouldn't have been that successful. :yaknow:

Rebellion was meant for Blackout...

Mona Lisa says hi.. it wouldve atleast entered top 40... Britney was a flop on the bb hot 100.. Break The Ice was supposed to be on Original Doll... :4music: that song would've defiantly be chosen as a single

I honestly do like Mona Lisa but it wasn't radio friendly really. I'm basing it on the songs we know we're only for OD e.g Guilty and Money, Love & Happiness which were pretty bad.

It'd have been cool maybe as an EP for fans but definitely not as a full album

I'm not really sure to be honest. It would have allowed the GP to see a different side of Britney as an artist, but from what we've heard not many of the songs that were intended for it were very radio friendly. Mona Lisa is ok but it's more for the fans. Wasn't Do Somethin' meant for it before it was put on GH:MP? I don't think we would have got Blackout either.

Songs from OD:

Ouch

Over to You Now

Mona Lisa

Dramatic

Money, Love, and Happiness

Do Somethin'

Break the Ice [allegedly, I think]

Guilty

My Prerogative [probably would have been included]

None of these songs are any less out there than songs from the Britney and ITZ albums were from those on BOMT and OIDIA. Blackout is well loved by many, but it didn't sound much like any of her previous albums. IMO some of these songs sound like Britney album songs (Dramatic, ML&H). Others more urban like ITZ or what would become BO. So I don't think it would have flopped, especially if the videos and promo had been handled well.

Of course, I am very happy that Blackout became the fifth album. :sorrynotsorry:

Then OD- there were no radio friendly hits

That's not what The Original Doll was supposed to be about. She had a message she was trying to get across with that album.

But OP, it's impossible to tell what would've happened had it been released. It's obvious she was trying to show a more mature image with songs like "Mona Lisa" and "Ouch." But "Money, Love and Happiness" sounds like it's an In The Zone outtake. So as I said, it's impossible to tell.

we wouldn't have gotten Original doll in 2005 do to her first pregnancy. Probably Mona Lisa Single Early 2006, and for promo it is most likely Jayden would've been born later. If her second son would've been born 2 years later then the next Album would've been a mix of Circus and Femme Fatale around late 2009, early 2010. Her seventh album would've been released around 2012 with Till the world ends as the lead single, in fact it could be a Circus Fatale rerelease, however I see it very radio friendly like Femme Fatale with tons of EDM being the thing in 2012, and DJs and other things. 2014 would bring the album like BJ, supposedly personal, but not really, and with songs that shoud've been released at least the previous summer to be noteworthy.

Original Doll would've been released 2006ish, but the GP wouldn't have been able to handle such unbridled perfection and then the world would've ended and we would've been spared from having to settle for Katy Gaga Ariana Selma and Demi :queenflopga:

Blackout, Circus, her work with will.Iam and the rest wouldn't even exist, so I don't know why did you put them in your list

no one knows what would we get after Original Doll, but I'm pretty sure it would be totally different than what we got now
