My unpopular opinion is she feels safe with the conservatorship.

My other unpopular opinion is that Jamie isn't corrupt or taking advantage of Britney. I think her parents were desperate and willing to do anything to help their daughter (as any parent would), and someone told them about the conservatorship. I doubt Jamie went into this with plans to make Britney's life like a prison for 6+ years, but with everyone involved (doctors, lawyers, a shady judge), it's probably impossible to end. I also think it serves as insurance for Britney to go on tour or get an endorsement deal, and I honestly believe she's kind of screwed with the conservatorship because she could lose access to the boys if it ends.

IMO, it probably exists only on paper now. Jamie hasn't lived with Britney for some time (he admitted that in the 2008 OK! interview); she's driven on her own; hangs out with friends; and besides having bodyguards around, she even goes out with the boys alone. Nobody knows what her mental health is truly like, nobody knows what happens behind closed doors, and nobody on here is in any position to say when they think it should end.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the conservatorship. But let's be real: she won't have this sudden control over her career once it's over. She's been fighting for control over her career since ITZ era. Some fans seem to think she'll suddenly turn into 2003-ney and I doubt that will happen.

I agree. Well said good sir, well said.   :crying1:

I think the c-ship is on paper theory is fantasy.  It is real and enforced.  Some of the restrictions may be loosening, but she is not in control of her life.

Should she be let go or kept on it?  I don't know all the time.  I hope she is getting appropriate medical care and is well taken care of.

Could she loose visitation with the boys if the c-ship ended?  If she lost touch with them, well I don't want to ever think about what that could do to her.

I suspect whatever she is dealing with is a long term mental illness that needs treatment for the rest of her life.  If that is the case, will she continue to take her medication and take care of her health if no one forces her to?

There are so many unanswered questions about Britney out there.  What clue if any does Original Doll (Mona Lisa and Rebellion) give?

I can just imagine the moment she is going to be "free" (Whatever that is, she will never be free from us fans or the world). Imagine aaaaall the lawsuits waiting for her.. It's only been 2 years since the Sam Lutfi case, and he was so pissed she couldn't answer herself, but it was for her own healths good she didn't. She wants to move on, not go back, so with the c-ship, she doesn't have to think about the past, and all the lawsuits.

If i went bonkers, lost my kids and lost myself, I would want my parents to step in. If course I would be pissed at first, you have to learn how to live with it. Isn't it hard for anyone to be told "no"?.. But I would do the same for my kids in order to save them.

I'm really hoping it will be over soon  :aww1:

I'm sure a lot of it is just in paper now, but I just want to see Britney truly free like any regular adult and not having to ask permission for big decisions in her life. Also to have bigger control with her career. I'm actually excited for Vegas to end to see what happens.

I also feel like the day the conservatorship ends is when Britney would truly have moved on from 2007.

I agree. She already seems so happy and finally getting back to her normal self. She is capable taking care of her own things. :)

Is the conservatorship the only measure against those, though? I would think other celebrities have other legal protections in place cause they'd have lawsuits all the time from shitty people, too.

Maybe I'm just dreading having this conservatorship go on for the rest of Britney's life. :yaknow:

No. You have to testify by all means, you can't get another person to testify for you. Britney can, because she is seen as a person out of law and order, a minor..

EDIT: If the court rules that of course. in the lutfi case, she COULD have testified, but she didn't wish to do it, and the court rouled that her father and her lawyer testified for her..
