I haven't read it, but it makes sense. She performed on TV for FF era and Circus, so why else would she suddenly change her mind for Britney Jean, other than Vegas? Vegas is the only thing that's changed between now and then.

If she performs on TV, then EVERYONE can just watch her for the price they pay for their monthly cable without having the cough out the money that Planet Hollywood would be making if they went to go see her. That's why. Her performing on TV = Planet Hollywood not making as much money.

Would watching one performance be like watching an entire show though? wouldn't it encourage you to go to the show, seeing she's slaying it?

 

And I'd say an alternative explanation is that there's more at stake at Vegas. If she pulled a half-asleep Work Bitch performance like she's done this leg or another dreadful HIAM promo performance like in Femme Fatale era, it'd affect sales dramatically. So her team is probably playing it safe.
