i agree that britney has earned her right for full control over her albums, but even for labels her career is not dependent on being number 1. she's still britney spears and she will still have a career and future with whatever label she chooses. whether she has a number 1 album or a number 4 album from here on

if her label was so worried about charting they wouldn't have offered her another contract after britney jean. britney jean underperformed in fans perspectives, but not the labels.

Well Britney is still very VERY famous after all those years so even if her album flopped she sold almost 1 mln albums! That's still quite much! Now they are trying to give her more control to increase the quality of the album, but no matter what they will do, she will still sell albums - she has so many fans!
