By the way, I always say to my friends that Britney Spears and Pokémon are more related than anything. Every time a special event occurs in the Britney world, something special happens with Pokémon too. The biggest news always came at the same time in both fandoms, and I know it because I search for news everyday for both.

They're so related, that the day BOMT was released was the same day that the first Pokémon games appeared in USA. Yeah, they appeared before in Japan, but it wasn't until they were released in America that the real success started for the franchise. The same with Britney, she was born in 1981, and she did a lot of things before BOMT, but it wasn't until the release of that song that the real thing begun.

Wow, time does fly so fast! Today marks 16 years of Britney Spears hit single 'Baby one more time". Britney released the first pop culture song today, September 30th 1998.  The song debuted on the Nov. 21, 1998, Billboard charts and hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 on Jan. 30, 1999. (It spent a grand total of 32 weeks on the charts, with two in the No. 1 slot.) Slay Britney!! Britney told billboard around the 1999 era:

"I had been in studio for about six months listening and recording material, but I hadn't really heard a hit yet," Spears recalled to Billboard at the time about the process of recording the track. "When I started working with Max Martin in Sweden, he played the demo for '...Baby One More Time' for me, and I knew from the start it one was of those songs you want to hear again and again. It just felt really right. I went into the studio and did my own thing with it, trying to give it a little more attitude than the demo. In 10 days, I never even saw Sweden. We were so busy."

Can't believe it has been 16 years already and the song is still slaying everyday lives. Check out performances of BOM from 1999-to present day! Happy birthday Baby one more time!!!!!
