Why did you want a mobile game?
It's honestly not something I had ever given much thought to. The focus has been my career and for the last few years and my residency at Planet Hollywood. But I'm always looking for new ways to express myself creatively, and I'm excited for this opportunity.
What kinds of input did you give the Glu team for Britney Spears: American Dream? What went through your mind the first time you saw the digital version of yourself?
I gave a lot of input on my character. The game's all about performing and making it in the music business. My show is a big part of that right now, so my character is wearing one of my favorite stage costumes in certain parts of the game. I wanted to make sure my hair was just right, little things like that. I was blown away when I saw the final "digital Britney."

How far have you gotten in the game? I'm stuck on the "D List."
Well … it's not entirely fair because I've been playing a lot longer. I'm on the "A List."
What aspects of the game do you like the most?
There are so many things I love about the game. The art itself is just so cute and colorful and I had so much fun working with the team to put my character together. I think my favorite part is the audio that goes with my character. As you're playing the game, you'll see my character and hear my voice. I hope it gives my fans the feeling that I'm there with them.
The game is all about fighting to make it as a singer. What was the hardest part about "making it" for you?
The hardest part about this business is being able to stay true to yourself. I think I've gotten pretty good about that over time.
It's a different world than when you did …Baby One More Time, as you know from your stint on X Factor. What advice do you give to young artists starting out now in real life?
Never give up on your dreams.
The game also emphasizes performance. What is your preshow ritual before a 22-song set, like you do in your Las Vegas residency?
My dancers and I always get together and do a prayer circle before each show.
Another aspect of the game is all the press celebrities have to do. How have you seen the media's treatment of celebrities change in the past 10 years?
With social media in the mix now, I'd say things just move way faster than they did 10 years ago.
